Juicing Daily and Health

It has been a while since I found some spare time to post and update – I honestly have been trying for quite some time but for some reason I always seem to find something more important that takes up my time. For that, I am sorry and I will try to ensure things change over 2015.

Christmas was a special time for me as I returned home to Swazi for 3 weeks. This gave me time to unwind from the Johannesburg chaos and also visit with some of my family that I have neglected for a few months. It takes a different mindset to be away from the buzz and fast pace of JHB but the rest always does the soul lots of good! I also miss 3g at a decent speed, but, what can you do :-)

I made a decision (or a new years resolution) to try and make some meaningful improvements to my health over 2015. I know we have all heard this many times before but you have to start somewhere. To begin with, I have joined the local virgin active gym and I really hope I can stick with it. I also bought myself a Breville decent juicing machine so I can muster up some health breakfast each and every day. The idea is to juice up everything from fruits through to vegetables ensuring healthy intake first thing instead of the usual toast and eggs etc. There are plenty of decent juicing machines on the market and you check out the best machines for juicing right here.

I also bought myself a nice high quality treadmill (which cost me a fortune) so when I don’t feel like going out to the gym I can at least get a little bit of a workout from home. I think this is important as there are times when you don’t have the energy to hit the gym and even if you get sick you might find it hard to get back into the exercise routine.

I will keep you guys posted as to my progress – I have started weighing in at 107kg and my ideal weight is somewhere in the low 80’s so I have a long way to go and a lot of work to put in. I think I am of the right mindset though and I should be able to stick to my goals if I can stay on target and avoid any temptations. I think the key to success is sticking with it as even a few days break can ruin the whole plan.

I will try and update in the next 3 weeks and let’s see how I go – wish me luck!

Computer Gaming a New Hobby!

It has been quite some time since I made the effort to post something on the site. The last few months have been very busy with work an hobbies and I am almost surprised that it is nearly the end of August – that means the year is slowly coming to a close! Apart from lots of Golf I have developed a new hobby, online computer gaming, thanks to my nephew who got me started with Minecraft. After spending quite a bit of time messing around with this particular game I have upgraded to play Warcraft and I think I am now hooked :-)

I have been playing so much I have had little time for much of anything else and it does have a negative in lack of sleep – as the saying goes “time flies when you are having fun” and I often end up in bed much too late. I have also invested in some new furniture for online gaming specifically to increase my desk size and ensure I can fit my computer and my work.

When it comes to PC hardware I have spent quite a bit so far and I do feel a little bit guilty as I have probably slightly overdone it! There are so many choices when it comes to cool gaming hardware that it becomes easy to keep buying stuff. Powerful computer specs, combined with decent graphics capabilities make the perfect environment for successful gaming. This, of course, does not include my 32″ HD screen and my new computer gaming desk!

If you are thinking of having a go and getting started then make sure you have the time and the capital to sustain your new habit or you will find yourself in trouble rather quickly. I think playing computer games over the internet has become so popular these days as you can partake in an unlimited amount of games against different opponents. This makes it both fun and challenging.

I don’t really have much else to report, I do plan on getting back home to Swaziland at some point to visit with the family and take a small break. I think it will do me some good to get out in the fresh air and spend some with nature. All this time indoors staring at computer screens (for both work and my new found hobby) are not doing my health (or fitness levels) any good at all! I may even have to look getting onto a small diet soon to reduce some of the weight I have picked up. Getting out of the city is very important in keeping yourself healthy and free from depression! I will update soon with new on my planned break and what I will be up to.

My Home – Swaziland

Growing up in Swaziland was challenging in some ways as the country is not that developed. When compared to South Africa it was a long way behind which made it tough to develop a mindset of a first world country. Communications were always a problem and in some regions almost non existent. Things are slowly changing for the better now and these issues are being addressed but it still remains an ongoing problem to solve.

As I mentioned previously this resulted in a childhood full of adventure as we really lived an outdoor based lifestyle. We spent much of our time in the wild looking for birds and different species of game and that passion has stayed with me through my adult life. To me, there is nothing better than a week in a game reserve!

Career wise I am in IT and spend my time working on marketing online for companies that are looking for a little bit more exposure. There are so many opportunities for small companies to grow outside the bounds of Africa if they focus enough on the right methods. It really is incredible how things have changed and if I look back to my childhood in Swaziland it really is amazing to see how far I have come. Things I take for granted on a daily basis are things I would never have dreamed of 15 years ago. I can only see this growing over time with more and more African companies succeeding online.

If you have stumbled upon this page by accident then I encourage to learn more about my home country on Wikipedia. If you have never been there before the I urge you to take a trip, one of the best ideas is to visit Swaziland and tie it in with a visit to Mbuluzi and even the Kruger National Park. Make sure you squeeze in some golf as well as there are some amazing golf courses in Swaziland and close to the border in South Africa.

Hopefully, my friends and family (for which this website has been setup) will enjoy following and I encourage them to comment and let me know how they are doing!

Welcome to Mbuluzi

Welcome to Mbuluzi.co.za my personal blog and a place where I can vent! My name is Nuwan Mbuluzi and I originally come from Swaziland. I grew up close to the Mbuluzi game reserve with the same name. As such I used to visit there when I was young and I have developed a love for wildlife, especially big game. There is nothing better in this world than spending time in a game reserve with the days driving around looking for animals and the evenings spent in a tented camp with all of my family. I have many fond memories of those years, but, now I love spending time at the Kruger National Park in the holidays as I work in Johannesburg and it only takes a morning to get there.

Another passion of mine is bird watching, Africa is perhaps one of the best place in the world to be if you are an avid bird watcher. There are so many birds to see and even if you spent a lifetime looking it is unlikely you would ever see them all! This is interest was spawned from my Father who spent most of his down time bird watching at Mbuluzi and he always said there was nothing more relaxing than spending time in the reserve in the peace and quiet.

Golf is my sport of choice as I grew up playing at the Royal Swazi Sun which is probably the top course in Swaziland. If you are ever in the country then make sure you squeeze in a round, it has some spectacular scenery and makes for a challenging day out in the fresh air. Recently, I setup a golf simulator at home to help me improve my handicap. If you are struggling with your golf then this has to be the best way to improve it as you can spend time in the evening and over weekends when the weather is not good sorting out your swing!

I hope to get back up to Swaziland in 2014 to relive some of the old memories and I will post some pictures here of my trip which will involve a few days of golf and then a trip to Mbuluzi game reserve for some well deserved rest!

I found this clip on Youtube of a Crocodile eating a Warthog at Mbuluzi reserve, check it out below.
